Rail Fan Hot Spot
Bound Brook New Jersey
Bound Brook Station, at 350 East Main Street, is New Jersey’s top train-watching destination. Built in 1913 by the Jersey Central Railroad (now part of Conrail), this historic station sits on a busy freight corridor, making it perfect for railfans eager to watch a steady flow of trains throughout the day. The station is easy to access, with a large parking lot that offers ample space for train watchers to safely enjoy the action up close.

Just three miles west, in Manville, railfans can get another unique vantage point. Here, freight routes to Philadelphia and Allentown split, and the tracks transition from Conrail ownership to Class I railroads. The junction and a nearby freight yard are visible from a shopping center parking lot on Main Street, making it an ideal spot to capture a variety of rail traffic.
