Shenandoah Junction West Virginia
On the CSX Cumberland Subdivision, visitors can observe trains running from Weverton, Maryland, to the Cumberland Terminal Division in Cumberland, Maryland. CSX operates a diverse range of trains on this line, including intermodals (containers and trailers), mixed freight (a combination of different types of cargo), loaded and empty coal trains, loaded and empty grain trains, loaded and empty ethanol trains, as well as ballast and rock trains.

In addition to CSX, Amtrak and MARC (Maryland Area Regional Commuter) trains also operate on the CSX Cumberland Subdivision. This means visitors can enjoy watching both passenger and freight trains from these carriers passing through Shenandoah Junction.

Moreover, the Norfolk Southern Hagerstown District crosses over the CSX Cumberland Subdivision at Shenandoah Junction. Norfolk Southern operates intermodal trains, mixed freight trains, loaded and empty coal trains, loaded and empty grain trains, and military trains on this line. This adds further variety to the rail traffic passing through the junction.

For rail enthusiasts and photographers, Shenandoah Junction provides an excellent opportunity to observe and document the operations of various CSX and Norfolk Southern trains. The intersection of multiple rail lines ensures a steady flow of train activity, creating an exciting environment for visitors.
